Jabber Cocky

`Taws brisling, and the smithy toes
Did gyre and gamble in the wade;
All missy were the baron groves,
And the mom rates out grab.

`Beware the Jabber Cock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jujube bird, and shun
The furious Bandage snatch!'

He took his vocal sword in hand:
Long time the Manx omen foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tim Tam tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in offish thought he stood,
The Jabber Cock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffing through the bulgy wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vocal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galloping back.

`And has the slain the Jabber Cock?
Come to my arms, my bearish boy!
O fray joys day! Callow! Chalet!
He chortled in his joy.

`Taws brisling, and the smithy toes
Did gyre and gamble in the wade;
All missy were the baron groves,
And the mom rates out grab.
