This poem was created by modifying Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky", from "Through The Looking Glass", into an epic tale of the attacks on 9/11/2001 and their aftermath.

The US War on Terror

By Barry J. Mitchel

'twas killing, and the sly theoves
'mid fire and brimstone win the babes;
All flimsy were the warnodoves,
And the homewraths shout "Wahhabes".

"Beware bin Laden's flock, my son,
Because each right, by laws they snatch.
Beware the hubbub word, and shun
The devious Saddam klatch!"

He took his mortal horde inland;
Long time the UN votes he sought---
So wrested he, cry the humdrum Three,
Who would denial have brought.

Allies enough he got, withstood
The jabber talk, with cries of shame;
Came whistling through the struggle, would
Redouble soon his claim!

One four four one! this flag won't run;
His fusillade sent slick attack!
He cleft Afghanistan, it's said
He rent enGulfed Iraq.

"And hast thou slain the Terror stalk?
Come take their arms, thy teams deploy!
So fractious they your coup delay."
Be chore to win his ploy.

'twas killing, and the sly theoves
'mid fire and brimstone win the babes;
All flimsy were the warnodoves,
And the homewraths shout "Wahhabes".
